MELBOURNE, Fla. -

The National Weather Service in Melbourne confirms a funnel cloud touched down in Melbourne.

Officials said the funnel cloud was first spotted over Lake Washington around 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said the funnel cloud stayed over the water for about five minutes before going back up into the clouds.

Officials said several residents called 911 and took pictures which were sent to them.

There were no injuries and no damage resulted from the funnel cloud, officials said.

There were no storm warnings in the area at the time.
