Haines City teacher caught with marijuana in car, deputies say
Polk deputies find 19.8 grams of marijuana in vehicle during traffic stop
A routine traffic stop ended in the arrest of a Daniel Jenkins Academy teacher after Polk County deputies say they found 19.8 grams of marijuana in her vehicle.
Donya Leigh-Anne Dennard, 36, was pulled over in Polk County Saturday night for failing to stop at a stop sign. After the officer pulled her over, he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from her car.
Deputies said Dennard then became nervous and told the officer she had illegal content in her car.
The officer found three separate bags of marijuana weighing a total of 19.8 grams, according to the release.
Dennard was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of paraphernalia. She was booked into the Polk County Jail and has since bonded out.
