Westbound lanes of I-4 were closed at Conroy Road for about six hours before reopening around 8:40 a.m. Thursday.

According to Orlando police, the woman collided her 1995 Toyota Camry with a guardrail at around 2:45 a.m., which caused her car to bounce back in middle of I-4 near Kirkman Road. Her car was struck by two different vehicles, troopers said.

The woman then attempted to cross the interstate, but she was struck and killed, Orlando police said.  Six other vehicles were then involved in a pileup, but no one was seriously injured, according to police.

Her identity hasn't been released pending next-of-kin notification, troopers said.

Traffic was backed up for miles in the area, including on the nearby Florida Turnpike.

As police were re-routing traffic, a 20-year-old woman plowed through two barricades and nearly hit an officer, coming to a stop about 10 feet from the victim's body, police said.  The woman was arrested on a charge of DUI and taken to jail.

An investigation into the crashes is ongoing.
