Judge Belvin Perry, Jr., announced Tuesday that he will seek re-election in 2012 to the Office of Circuit Judge, Group 3.

Perry, who became known nationwide as the judge in the Casey Anthony murder trial, is seeking his fifth term as circuit judge, according to a press release.

Perry was also elected Chief Judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in 2001 and is currently serving in his eighth term.

Orange and Osceola county residents will vote for this position on Aug. 14.
