Judge denies Casey Anthony motion to limit damages in civil lawsuit
Zenaida Gonzalez sues Anthony on defamation charges
A Central Florida judge has denied Casey Anthony's motion to throw out punitive damages in her civil lawsuit with Zenaida Gonzalez, the woman suing her for defamation.
Judge Lisa Munyon said on Friday that Anthony's motion was filed incorrectly, resulting in its denial. Anthony's attorneys can refile the motion. A hearing was held on Wednesday where Anthony's attorneys tried to limit the amount of damages she could be ordered to pay in her civil case.
Gonzalez shares a similar name to the fictitious nanny whom Anthony said kidnapped her daughter, Caylee, in 2008. Gonzalez claims she could not find a job and her life was in upheaval after being linked to the case.
