Eating Champion Demolishes Chicken Wing Record
PHILADELPHIA -- Takeru Kobayashi set a new competitive eating record by downing 337 chicken wings at Wing Bowl XX.
The six time Nathan's Hot Dog eating champion competed in the wing contest for the first time and he shattered the old record of 255 set last year by Jonathan "Super" Squibb.
Around 20,000 spectators gathered at the Wells Fargo Center early Friday morning to watch the competitors stuff themselves.
Kobayashi won $20,000 for his victory.
Jonathan Squibb finished a distant second place, downing 271 wings.
