A 33-year-old man was arrested in New Smyrna Beach on attempted murder charges in the stabbing of a 64-year-old man.

Alexis Calderon was arrested Tuesday night in the stabbing of Ronald Willsey.

According to New Smyrna Beach police, officers were called around 8:50 p.m. to the 800 block of Downing Street in reference to a stabbing.

Officers learned Willsey had been stabbed in the upper left chest during an argument with Calderon in the street.

Police found Calderon in a nearby apartment and he was arrested for attempted murder.

Willsey was taken to Halifax Hospital and was listed in stable condition.

No details about what led to the argument were released.
