Man arrested in Daytona Beach bank robbery
Kmart also evacuated over suspicious package left by robber, police say
Daytona Beach police have arrested the man who they say robbed a Wells Fargo bank and then left suspicious belongings at the Kmart across the street.
Michael Mauphin has been arrested in the bank robbery after police said they found cash on him. It's not clear how much.
Police said Mauphin went to the bank at 1302 W. International Speedway Blvd. at 3:15 p.m. and implied he had a gun. He got away with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.
Police said they came across Mauphin's belongings at the Kmart nearby, including a bag with wires sticking out, which was deemed suspicious.
The Kmart was evacuated as authorities investigated the belongings as a suspicious package. The package was deemed safe and the scene was cleared shortly after.
