The lockdown of a Brevard Community College campus was lifted on Thursday after police arrested an unarmed suspect accused of making threats.
Police arrested 21-year-old Isaiah Duvall Wilson in the incident, which occurred at the BCC campus in Cocoa located off Clearlake Road.
According to Cocoa police, a 911 call came in reporting that someone had a weapon near the library. Investigators said a campus worker overheard Wilson saying he was upset, had a gun and wanted to shoot somebody.
Police said they quickly responded to the area and began searching the library. Police made contact with Wilson on the second floor and he was taken into custody without incident, investigators said.
No gun was located, and Wilson denied making the statements, authorities said.
Investigators said they believe Wilson may have some medical issues that contributed to this incident and his behavior.
Wilson was charged with disruption of a school function, a second-degree misdemeanor, and was transported to the Brevard County Jail.
Classes at the Cocoa campus were canceled Thursday night but will resume on Friday.
