WINTER PARK, Fla. -

A man was shot multiple times in an altercation early Friday at an Orange County apartment complex, authorities said.

The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. near Aloma Avenue and Tangerine Avenue in Winter Park.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said the victim, described only as a 31-year-old Hispanic man, was shot multiple times in the chest, abdomen and back.

The man collapsed in the roadway near a gas station on Aloma Avenue, deputies said.  A cab driver saw the man fall and pulled her car behind him to block traffic so the man wouldn't get run over, deputies said.

Deputies are searching for three men who fled in a beige four-door sedan.

The victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition, according to authorities at the scene.
