MOUNT DORA, Fla. -

Mount Dora police continue to search for a man who robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store at gunpoint.

Police said officers responded to the store at 16950 U.S. Highway 441 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon their arrival, the female clerk said a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt entered the store and approached the counter to make a purchase, according to police.

When the clerk opened the register drawer, the man jumped over the counter with a gun in his hand, police said.  The man took money from the register and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money, running toward the Wells Fargo Bank across U.S. Highway 441 before disappearing.

Police used K-9 units and the Lake County Sheriff's Office helicopter to try and find the man but were unable to locate him.

The clerk was not injured.
