Newspaper mistaken for gunshot in Pa.
Student reported shots fired from car delivering papers
Are newspapers becoming THAT obsolete?
Police in Gettysburg, Pa., told The Associated Press that a college student's report of a gun being fired was instead the sound of a newspaper hitting the sidewalk.
The Gettysburg College student reported someone firing a gun from a white sedan early Saturday morning.
During an investigation, police learned that the woman driving the sedan was delivering papers and the noise reported was the sound of one of the papers hitting the sidewalk, The Evening Sun reported.
An alert about the incident was sent to Gettysburg College students, parents and employees via text message, voicemails and emails.
The all-clear was given around 8:30 a.m., according to The Evening Sun.
