An airplane was forced to make an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport after the pilot smelled a suspicious odor in the cockpit.

According to airport officials, American Airlines flight 1083 made the emergency landing shortly after taking off around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The plane, which was bound for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, was inspected after landing.

OIA officials said the odor did not appear to be dangerous, although it is not known what caused the odor.
