Orange County deputies say one person has been arrested after ramming a patrol car and leading deputies on a 15-mile pursuit through the county.
Deputies received a call just before 2 a.m. Thursday about a possible car break-in at the Pine Harbor Apartments located on Bloomfield Drive, just off North Dean Road in Orlando.
As a deputy arrived at the apartments, 20-year-old Luis Pietri rammed the patrol car as he was exiting the complex, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say the pursuit ended off Augusta National Drive near Orlando International Airport when the suspect hopped a curb and fled on foot.
Two deputies crashed into each other during the pursuit but were able to catch up with the suspect, according to OCSO. The deputies received minor injuries in the crash although their vehicles sustained front-end damage. The deputy's patrol car that was rammed sustained minor damage.
Deputies say Pietri faces several charges, including aggravated assault on a deputy, fleeing and eluding and theft to a motor vehicle.
The car Pietri was driving was stolen near the University of Central Florida, deputies said.
Deputies are working with UCF police as part of the investigation.
