Orange County Public Schools named its teacher of the year in a surprise announcement Monday at the Teacher of the Year Awards ceremony Monday night. 

Freedom High School's Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, who goes by Mr. Won, won the honor.

As the winner, Mr. Won will enjoy a Disney annual pass from Walt Disney World Community Relations, a one-year lease of a GMC Terrain SUV from Carl Black – Orlando, a two-night stay at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, a three-day cruise to the Bahamas from Employee Travel Services, $500 from CFE Federal Credit Union, and $500 from corporate table sponsors.

Mr. Won teachers choir at Freedom High School. 

He will compete for the Macy's Teacher of the Year award this summer.
