Orlando high school evacuated over box of labels
Orlando police investigate alleged bomb threat; School deemed safe
A box of shipping labels caused the evacuation of Edgewater High School on Monday, according to authorities.
Edgewater High School Principal Michelle Erickson left a voicemail with parents saying that the school had received a bomb threat and all students and faculty were evacuated to the football stadium.
Orlando Fire Department tells Local 6 a student reported they had saq the box with a message on it saying something similar to "this is not a bomb-psych." Fire officials said the student who the box belonged to said it was a school project and he had never intended it to be a scare.
Orlando Police Department investigated the threat, finding that the alleged bomb was a box of shipping labels. The campus was deemed safe.
