Orlando police is expanding its presence in the community by opening a new substation on Wednesday.

The new office is located on Raleigh Street next to the Valencia College west campus.

The new station opens just days after two female students were attacked at the school's west campus.

The two victims spoke only to Local 6, saying a man knocked one of them unconscious and punched the other in the mouth. The attacker was still on the loose as of Wednesday morning.

Orlando police say while the substation was planned well before the attack at Valencia College, the new office will allow officers to respond to calls quicker in the southwestern part of the city and increase the police presence near the campus.
