Osceola deputies: Registered felon asked teen for time, exposed self
Man approached victim twice by mailboxes, deputies say
Osceola County Sheriff's deputies arrested Matthew Bennett, a registered felon, on charges of exposure of sex organs and stalking on Thursday.
A girl told detectives that a man asked her what time it was and exposed himself in front of her on Monday while she was alone at a mailbox in the Siesta Lago community, deputies said.
The next day, the victim said the same man approached her and asked her for the time and the victim walked away, according to deputies. Then later in the evening, the victim and her mother saw him outside a home on Siesta Lane near their residence and contacted authorities, according to the report.
The victim was able to create a composite sketch and help deputies identify Bennett.
He was arrested and booked into the Osceola County jail Thursday.
According to the Osceola County clerk of courts website no official charges have been filed.
The sheriff's office named Bennett as a registered felon in a release, however, no former felony record was located with the Florida department of corrections.
