Osecola County man charged with capital sexual battery
9-year-old victim comes forward, deputies say
An Osceola County man has been charged with capital sexual battery, lewd and lascivious conduct and sexual performance by a child after a 9-year-old victim, who deputies say is a relative of his, came forward.
Wheeler Loomes, Jr., 69, is charged with nine counts of capital sexual battery, four counts of lewd and lascivious conduct and three counts of sexual performance by a child.
On Monday, the girl told Osceola County Sheriff's detectives she was sexually battered by Loom in his home and at the Horse World Riding Stables in Kissimmee where he worked. She said the first incident occurred when she was 5 years old, according to deputies.
Detectives searched his house on Tuesday on Granada Boulevard in Kissimmee and his business. They took several items including electronic devices, into evidence and Loomes was brought in for questioning, but did not cooperate.
He was later booked was into the Osceola County Jail with no bond. The investigation is on-going with additional charges pending.
