Police: Boy brings ammo to Daytona Beach elementary school
No charges filed, authorities say

Daytona Beach police questioned a 9-year-old boy after he brought 23 rounds of ammunition to his elementary school on Tuesday.
Police said a teacher at Ortona Elementary School, located on N Grandview Ave, found the ammo after one of the rounds fell to the floor in the middle of class and reported it to the principal, who called authorities.
The student was showing the rounds to three other students, according to Nancy Wait of Volusia County schools. The parents of the students involved were notified and no other alerts were sent to other parents.
No charges were be filed, but the investigation is ongoing.
