Melbourne police say a dad attacked a 17-year-old boy considered to be the "rival" of his 16-year-old son.
According to Local 6 news partner Florida Today, 55-year-old Robert Dale Teague was driving with his son on Monday when the 16-year-old saw two other boys standing on the side of the road. Teague's son got out of the car near the corner of West Eau Gallie Boulevard and Arnold Drive and started a fight with one of the two boys.
Police say Teague then got out of the car and started fighting the 17-year-old. Teague was arrested and charged with child abuse.
His son was also arrested and charged with aggravated battery because police say he stabbed one of the boys with a screwdriver.
Police believe the fight between the teens stems from a dispute over a girl at school.
