Police: Kissimmee man sold fake theme park tickets to tourists
Man sold expired tickets to Legoland, Universal, police say
Kissimmee police arrested a man on Thursday who they say had been selling invalid theme park tickets to tourists at least twice over the last few months.
Pedro Rodriguez, 34, has been charged with scheming to defraud, grand theft and use of a 2-way communication device during a felony, according to police.
Victims of Rodriguez's scheme contacted police on New Year's Eve after they said a Craiglist ad led them to Rodriguez, who gave them expired Lego Land and Universal Studios tickets.
The tourists, who were visiting from Massachusetts, said they didn't know they were expired until they arrived at the park.
Police said they linked Rodriguez to another case where he sold invalid tickets to Halloween Horror Nights during their investigation. Rodriguez was arrested on Thursday after he sold invalid tickets to an undercover officer.
He will be booked into the Osceola County Jail on $10,000 bond.
