Police: Man posing as modeling agent nabbed in foot-fetish attack
John Capio arrested outside bar near UCF
A 35-year-old man with a history of posing as a modeling agent to satisfy his foot fetish was arrested Wednesday in an attack on a woman near the University of Central Florida.
John Capio, of New York, faces charges of battery, exposure of sexual organs and false imprisonment in the attack, which occurred in April outside the Lit Hookah bar on University Boulevard.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Capio approached a woman standing outside the bar and told her that he could help her make a lot of money if she became a foot model.
The man asked her to follow him to his car, where he had business cards, deputies said.
As they entered the parking lot, the woman didn't want to go any further and asked the man for his phone number instead, deputies said. The man then grabbed her arm and walked deeper into the lot. The woman said she didn't scream because she was scared and didn't know what to do, according to deputies.
The man then led her to his car and, as he sat down, he grabbed her foot, pulled down his shorts and touched his genitals to her foot, deputies said.
The woman broke free, grabbed her shoe and returned to her friends, deputies said.
Although the woman could not identify the man, the description she provided led investigators to Capio, who was convicted in two similar attacks in the same area in 2010.
