Police have arrested an armed man who was in a standoff with authorities at a Winter Park cemetery.

The standoff began around noon Friday at Glen Haven Memorial Park on Temple Drive in Winter Park. Winter Park police said they were called to the Glenhaven Cemetery on Temple Drive after a person threatened to commit suicide and that shots were fired.

When officer arrived, they said they found Daniel Austin, 38, armed with a Glock semi-automatic handgun. Austin surrendered to negotiators at around 1:35 p.m.  He has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer for pointing his firearm at a responding officer.

No one was injured in the shooting, police said.

Residents in the area were alerted of the situation via reverse 911 calls.
