Probe continues after woman's body found near Brevard beach
Deputies declare woman's death as 'suspicious'
Sheriff’s investigators continue to probe the death of a South Patrick Shores woman last seen two days before her body was found near a beach access last week, according to Local 6 news partner Florida Today.
“We are continuing with the processing of evidence and interviews with people who might have information in reference to her activities during the time frame she went missing,” Brevard County Sheriff’s Major Tod Goodyear said. “What we’re trying to do now is confirm a 36-hour time period.”
Charmaine Ochs, 43, was last seen by her boyfriend when she left her apartment at State Road A1A and Berkeley Street to pick up her laundry the night of April 10, officials previously said. Her boyfriend reported her missing the next morning.
A dog walker found a woman’s body, that officials later confirmed was Ochs, on a beach path just across the beachside highway from her apartment two days later. Goodyear said an autopsy has been performed but the final results had not been released.
