DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

Repaving work caused by a fiery crash during the Daytona 500 will begin this week.

The construction will begin on Thursday and will repair the asphalt burned during the Daytona 500 between Juan Pablo Montoya's race car and a jet dryer.

Montoya's No. 42 Chevrolet had a chassis failure in the rear end of his car, which caused it to careen out of control and crash into the jet dryer  -- spilling 175 gallons of jet fuel onto the track creating a fireball.

Fortunately, neither driver was hurt.
