Researchers with the OCEARCH program say they have tagged and released a great white shark that they caught Sunday off the coast of Mayport.
Lydia weighs about 2,000 pounds and is 14-feet, 6-inches long, according to researchers.
Researchers said Lydia has a GPS device attached to her so researchers can track her movements in the water.
Lydia is named after Lydia Moss Bradley, the founder of Bradley University, a longtime friend of Caterpillar Inc.
OCEARCH is a nonprofit ocean research company that says it has been tracking great white sharks off the coast since last summer.
