The founder of the National Kidney Foundation's Labor Day Surf Festival, was laid to rest in a moving memorial Saturday.
Richard Salick, 62, died after emergency surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center on July 2.
Salick was most known as being the founder of the NKF Surf Festival, which had grown into a four day, world renown event to raise money for the foundation.
Over 1,000 mourners turned out for the memorial which was held at Club Zion Memorial Church in Cocoa Beach.
According to the NKF Surf Foundation website, they will continue the festival in Salick's honor.
