Melbourne police SWAT team shot a person late Tuesday while serving a search warrant.

It happened in the 3000 block of Fountainhead Circle at 8 p.m.

Police said the search warrant was related to a narcotics investigation.

The shooting victim was transported to a nearby hospital. His injuries were considered non-life threatening.

No officers were injured.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating, which is standard procedure.
