Salmon sold at Whole Foods recalled
FDA says fish may be contaminated with dangerous bacteria
A South Florida seafood company is recalling some of its salmon products because of possible bacterial contamination.
Michael Gourmet Delicacies announced a recall Tuesday for Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Batch 1443, which had been sold from June to November in Whole Foods stores throughout Florida.
The recall was the result of a routine sampling by the Florida Department of Agriculture that revealed that the finished product contained listeria, a bacteria that cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.
Michael Gourmet Delicacies has ceased the sale of the entire affected batch.
No illnesses have been reported.
