Volusia County files battery charges

SANFORD, Fla. -

A Sanford police officer is being investigated by Volusia County officials on battery charges, authorities said.

In a statement, Sanford police Sgt. David Morgenstern said Officer Robert Shull was charged with battery and an investigation is being conducted by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and the state attorney's office.

Shull will be placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigations.
