A security guard was shot early Monday at the Ocala Entertainment Complex in a fight over a spilled drink, police said.
Deon Sutton 27, was arrested several charges, including battery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in the shooting of 25-year-old Josue Santiago.
According to Ocala police, officers were called around 1:40 a.m. and discovered that Sutton had become upset with Santiago, who knocked over Sutton's drink.
After an argument, Santiago was escorting Sutton from the facility when Sutton pulled a gun from his pants, police said. The pair fought over the gun, which fired, and a bullet stuck Santiago in the shoulder, police said.
Santiago suffered a non-life-threatening wound, Ocala police said.
Witnesses restrained Sutton until police arrive and he was arrested and taken to a hospital before being transported to the Marion County Jail.
