A Brevard circuit judge on Tuesday denied a motion seeking medical treatment for a woman accused of killing a sheriff's deputy.
Judge Morgan Reinman said she had no jurisdiction to order the Orange County jail, where Andria Kerchner is being held without bond on a murder charge, to provide medical treatment, Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports.
Kerchner's attorney, Michael Bross, said he would contact the jail to inquire about medical care and would pursue other methods, such as seeking his client's release on bond or a civil suit, if need be to get Kerchner treatment.
"That might be an issue for a bond hearing if she can't get treatment in custody," Bross said.
It's not clear what Kerchner's injuries were.
Kerchner appeared in court Tuesday morning but did not speak. Her next hearing is scheduled for June. Codefendant Brandon Bradley has a hearing set for May.
