Teen tow truck driver struck, killed in Apopka
Johnathan Loiacono struck by car while adjusting towing chain, police say
A 19-year-old tow truck driver was hit and killed by a car in Apopka by a driver suspected of drinking and driving, police said.
Johnathan Loiacono was struck early Sunday morning by a white Ford Ranger driven by Adalberto Serrano, Apopka police said.
According to police, Loiacono was towing a red Honda Accord on Rock Springs Road near Disalvo Place when he got out to adjust the towing chain.
Adalberto crashed into the back of the stopped vehicles, killing Loicano instantly, police said.
Alcohol is suspected to be involved in the crash, police said.
