Testimony continued Tuesday in the trial of a Seminole County woman accused of strangling her 2-year-old daughter with a bra.
Police said Nioshka Bello killed her daughter, Janessa, in September 2009. Bello is charged with first-degree murder.
During opening statements, defense attorney Tim Caudil said his client had lost her job and Janessa's father refused to take the child or provide financial support for her. In arguing for lesser charges, Caudil also said Bellow was about to be evicted from her apartment.
Paramedics, firefighters and police officers who responded to the scene testified on Tuesday.
A jury of 12, plus two alternates (nine men and five women), was seated in the trial and will determine Bello's fate.
