The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced today the recall of 23,400 Sportspower trampolines sold exclusively at Sports Authority. According to CPSC, the trampoline’s metal legs can move out of position and puncture the jumping area, posing a risk of injury, including deep, penetrating puncture wounds, cuts and bruises to anyone using the equipment.
The Sportspower trampolines were manufactured in China and sold at Sports Authority stores nationwide, from April 2007 through May 2012, for about $540. The recall involves the Parkside model TR-14FT-COM. The model number is marked on the packaging and instruction manual. “Parkside” is printed on the enclosure net.
No serious injuries have been reported, but CPSC warns consumers to stop using the trampolines immediately and contact Sportspower for a free repair kit. The company is also available at (888) 965-0565.
