(CNN) -- The president of The Associated Press said Tuesday that a U.S. Department of Justice official's letter to him explaining the federal agency's decision to subpoena phone records from the news service's bureaus and reporters "does not adequately address our concerns." Gary Pruitt said in a statement that the "scope of the subpoena was overbroad" and blasted federal authorities for seizing phone records "in secret."
