ORLANDO, Fla. -

An Orlando police officer is under investigation after he was caught on a city security camera hitting a pedestrian and leaving the scene, according to investigators.

Police said pedestrian Tetrish Nunn, 36, was at fault for crossing North Hughey Avenue when the signal said not to, but Officer Michael Fiorentina-Tyburski, 29, was also found at fault for leaving the incident, which occurred in January.

Video of the crash was released on Tuesday, and it shows Nunn walking across North Hughey Avenue and West Washington Street in downtown Orlando as a car swerves to avoid hitting him.  Moments later, Nunn is struck by the OPD patrol car.

According to an Orlando police report, Fiorentina-Tyburski talked to Nunn for 3 minutes before leaving. He said Nunn told him he was OK and didn't need medical attention. Fiorentina-Tyburski returned the scene about 20 minutes later, according to the report.

Nunn was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for leg injuries.

An Internal Affairs investigation into the crash is ongoing.
