Linfen, CHINA -

A drunken Chinese man had to be rescued after climbing onto high-voltage wires, China's state TV reports.

The unidentified man climbed more than 27 feet and dangled upside down on the wires for more than 15 minutes as rescuers set up a cushion.

The local power company had to cut electricity in the area.

According to Reuters, a firefighter climbed the pole and tried to convince the man to get down.

The man eventually fell from the wires and onto an inflatable cushion.

He was not injured, but he did have excessive amounts of alcohol in his blood, according to reports.
