The Florida Highway Patrol says a woman has been arrested in connection to a deadly hit-and-run crash during Biketoberfest 2011.
Troopers tell Local 6 20-year-old Rita Carter of DeLand turned herself in on Monday. According to jail records, she faces two counts of DUI manslaughter and one count of leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
Troopers say Carter hit a motorcycle from behind on Interstate 4 near DeLand in October 2011.
The crash caused the two people on the motorcycle to be thrown onto the interstate. Troopers say the two victims -- 34-year-old Javier Remonsanzol and 32-year-old Allison Sellers -- were run over by three other vehicles after Carter caused them to crash.
Carter was released from jail on Tuesday after posting bond.
