Woman fatally shoots ex-boyfriend as he clung to her hood
Man shot through the windshield in Ocala after hanging on for 10 miles
A woman who killed her ex-boyfriend seen riding on the hood of her car has not been charged in the shooting, according to Marion County sheriff's officials.
Deputies said around 6 p.m. Saturday a call came in about a man riding on the hood of a white vehicle. Just before 7 p.m., 911 got a call about a shooting, according to deputies.
Marion County sheriff's officials said 33-year-old Nikki Y. McNeil was trying to leave a home off Northwest 10th Avenue in Ocala when 36-year-old Lamark D. Tucker Sr. took both McNeil's car keys and cellphone.
McNeil used spare keys to leave, but as she pulled away, Lamark reportedly jumped onto the car and for nearly 10 miles held onto the car while threatening to harm McNeil, deputies said.
Deputies said McNeil reportedly stopped at least twice to get help, and at one point, near the intersection of Northwest Gainesville Road and County Road 329 in Reddick, she fired a gun once through the windshield, striking Tucker.
Tucker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
McNeil described Tucker as her ex-boyfriend and they share custody of three children, deputies said.
