Altamonte Springs officer accused of domestic battery by strangulation

Paul Singrossi arrested, taken to Seminole County Jail

SANFORD, Fla. – An Altamonte Springs police officer was arrested early Tuesday on a charge of domestic battery by strangulation.

Altamonte Springs police said Senior Officer Paul Singrossi has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the conclusion of criminal and internal investigations.

Police said Seminole County sherif's deputies went to Singrossi's home around 1:30 a.m. in connection with a domestic disturbance.

The deputies met with Singrossi's wife, whom they said made filed the complaint, and an investigation determined  that probable cause existed to arrest Singrossi, according to officials.

Singrossi, who was hired by the agency in October 2008, was arrested and taken to the Seminole County Jail.
