OCALA, Fla. - A Marion County man has been arrested on Monday after deputies say he stabbed a man and the man's dog inside of an apartment.

Daniel Trent, 38, was charged with second-degree homicide in the Monday afternoon incident.

Deputies said they found Mark Durham, 56, at the Greenfield Apartments on Southeast 30th Place stabbed to death, along with his dog.

Trent later admitted to killing the two, investigators say. Deputies believe the stabbing could have occurred on May 11.

No details about the motive for the stabbing were released.

Trent was booked into the Marion County Jail on a no bond status.
