Students are safe, officials say

Astronaut High School students wait on the football field while authorities investigate a bomb threat.

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Astronaut High School was been placed on lockdown Thursday for the second day in a row after an "unsubstantiated threat," Brevard Public Schools said.

"All students and staff are safe and have been evacuated as a precaution," a spokeswoman said.

Titusville Police Department and the Brevard County Sheriff's Office are surveying the campus.

Officials did not provide further details on the threat that spurred the code black lockdown.

Parents who wish to pick their students up from the school can report to the War Eagle Boulevard with their ID.

The school district announced on Twitter that it would be canceling a soccer game and freshman expo scheduled tonight at the school.

On Wednesday, students had to be evacuated onto the football field after the school received a bomb threat.
