OCALA, Fla. – A man being robbed at knifepoint scared away his assailants by pulling out a bigger knife, according to Ocala police.
Mario Lee Samaniego told police that at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, three men attempted to rob him while parked outside of an unoccupied building in Berkshire Oaks. Samaniego, who works for Teco gas, said he was checking a gas line at an unoccupied Berkshire Oaks residence.

According to a police report, the men came between Samaniego and his truck and one man began demanding money. When Samaniego told the suspects that he didn't have any, another man pulled out a small folding knife and pointed it at Samaniego while continuing to demand money.
Samaniego then pulled out a larger folding knife and told the men he would defend himself, police say. The three men immediately fled on foot.
According to police, the first culprit is described as a black male who brandished the knife. He is described as about 5-feet-9-inches tall with short hair, and he was wearing a black shirt, black shorts, sunglasses and an Oakland Raiders baseball cap.
The second was described as a 5-foot-9-inch black male with dread locked, shoulder-length hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt with black shorts and sunglasses.
The third culprit was described to police as a 5-foot-10-inch white male with short brown hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt with baggy green shorts and sunglasses, and he had "half-sleeve" tattoos on his arms and gold teeth, police said.
