Audubon Center for Birds of Prey to host owl baby shower

Shower scheduled Mother's Day weekend

MAITLAND, Fla. – The Audubon Center for Birds of Prey recently welcomed some baby owls, and wants to welcome them into the world by throwing them a shower.

The center holds a baby owl shower each spring to raise money to offset the costs of taking care of the babies. The center uses 20 percent of its annual budget to take in babies that have been displaced in hopes of returning them back to the wild.

Several organizations will join the center at the baby shower for educational activities. Admission to the event is free, but the center hopes participants will make a donations to help the baby birds.

The center collects funds for food, hydration, cleanup and labor to help the baby owls. The money contributes to the nestlings, flight school and in-kind gifts funds.

The shower will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m on May 13. The wish list is below. Anyone with questions can call 407-644-0190 or find more information on the center's website
