The Testers were at their home near Enterprise when Shelley went into labor. As they were driving to Florida Hospital Altamonte in their white pickup truck, the baby wouldn't wait, so John Tester pulled over and called 911. Dispatchers talked John Tester through delivering his baby from the passenger door.
Local 6 asked how Colton has changed their life since his birth, to which John Tester responded, "Dramatically. Dramatically. The final piece of the puzzle."
The Testers said they and their two other children have retold their story of Colton's birthday countless times.
"If we're somewhere, Logan will say this is the 'gas station baby.' And then we'll have to go into detail about what he's talking about!" the Testers said.
The Testers said ever since their shared the unique moment together, their relationship has grown.
"It does make it special," Shelley Tester said. "There's something there that not everybody has. It's an unforgettable thing. Not many men can say they delivered their own son in a truck."
In honor of Colton's birthday, Local 6 gave him his first microphone to remind him of his very first TV appearance just minutes after arriving in this world.
