Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies celebrates milestone
A boy born Thursday at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies marked the 100,000 birth at the Orlando facility.
Parents Harish Raj Kumar and Denika Raj welcomed Hridaya into their family just before 2 p.m. Hridaya weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and is resting comfortably with his mother at the hospital.
Hridaya means “heart” in Sanskrit, and he is the first boy on either side of the family, according to the hospital.
Winnie Palmer Hospital opened in May 2006 and annually ranks as one of the busiest labor and delivery hospitals in the country. More than 13,000 babies are expected to be born there every year.
