DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police said they arrested a man after a standoff late Friday evening.
Police were called to 1711 Ocean Dunes Terrace after 22-year-old Gregory Tomci was threatening suicide.
Police said Tomci's father called police after Tomci had been drinking all day and threatened to shoot himself.
The father was able to take the gun away from Tomci and was trying to keep him outside. When police arrived, they evacuated several houses, officials said.
Tomci got back into the house, locked himself in his bedroom and refused to come out, police said. The father told police there were more weapons in the house.
Police were able to send a robot into the home and break down the bedroom door where Tomci surrendered peacefully.
Tomci was taken to the Volusia County jail where he was booked on domestic-related charges.
