Bedroom peeper sought in Brevard County

14-year-old says man was peeking in her bedroom

SCOTTSMOOR, Fla. – A Scottsmoor neighborhood is on alert after deputies say a 14-year-old girl caught a man peeping through her window Tuesday night

Deputies scoured the area near the home on Travis Drive but couldn't find the peeper.

Local 6 spoke to the teenage victim, who said she was listening to her iPod with her sister and about to go to bed when she heard a knock on the window.

"I thought it was my mom playing jokes like she usually does, so I unlocked my window and stick my head out and I'm like, 'OK, mom it's over,' and then I was like, 'oh my mom doesn't run,'" said 14-year-old Breahna Junkala.

Breahna's mom, Brenda Grey, said she saw the man earlier in the day hiding in the woods across the street from their house. She said she didn't think much of it, but worries things could escalate if they don't catch the man.

"I think his intention is to probably come into the house," Grey said.

The family said it saw the man again on Wednesday night around the same time on a bike at the end of the street, but by the time the family went inside to grab a flashlight, he was gone.

"I couldn't even tell you want I want to do to this guy ... " Grey said. "I have a lot of thoughts."

It's unclear how long the man was looking through Breahna's window or if this was the first time.

Deputies said they have beefed up their nightly patrols in the neighborhood until the man is caught. The man is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall with sandy blond, curly hair pulled back into a bun.
